Project Brief: Choose a brand, and create an illustration to advertise either a new or existing product.
I chose the brand Telfar and wanted to create a magazine cover for one of my favorite magazines Paper Mag.
As a person who has woken up two times at 8 am just to be one of the first people to acquire a Telfar Shopper, I wanted to center the illustration around designing a new bag.
I was inspired by my love of the Japanese art of “suminigashi” paper marbling and wanted to incorporate my interpretation of that artform into the design of the bag and the illustration itself. I used different tones of orange and green to create a separation of foreground/background to really make the bag and the monkey pop.
